One of the commissioned Garden Gallery artists, Mike Windle, is looking for video contributions to be included in a large moving portrait of Portobello to be shown initially on 27 August 2009 but continuing thereafter. Clips can be just 5 seconds long and can come from a mobile phone. Click"read more" below for further information...

Call for Contributions

Please contribute to the video artwork PORTORAMA. I am looking for all video contributions to be included in a large moving portrait of Portobello to be shown initially on 27 August 2009 as part of the Garden Gallery.

I am looking for short video clips between 5 seconds and 3 minutes with sound in any format from: folks of all ages, storytellers, musicians, filmmakers, holiday snapshots, midnight ramblers, dawn treaders, surfers, skateboarders, poets, dog lovers, dog haters… in fact anything about living in Portobello. Everyone will be credited.

Don’t worry about the technical aspect – the video can be made on a mobile phone or high definition camera. I can pick it up from you or you can deliver it to the Public Art House (the old Tides Inn pub at the bottom of Kings Road is now ours).

For those of you technically minded the format will be: quicktime.mov, any fps, 512x288 pixels (widescreen), codec H.264, audio AAC stereo.

The end result will be running from a computer in semi-random order in a split/screen format with extra sound running throughout.

Any queries and contributions can be directed to Michael Windle - mob 07786996014 or mike@porty.net

Best wishes
Mike Windle
