As an artist Louise is interested in her response to the environment she inhabits. Her work is about my visual obsessions, finding ways of translating the idea of architecture, nature and the process of change.
Title of work - Hypothesis 1
Hypothesis 1 is an experiment in colour, structure and change. The work pulls together strong influences that weave through my art practice, the idea of architecture, of nature, the process of change and the narrative within this.
Hypothesis 1 begins as a recognisable architectural idea the ‘column’, created from a set of clear acrylic tubes filled with bright coloured liquids. These are then drilled into the ground and held in place by the earth around them. From this point on the artwork takes on it’s own narrative, reacting to the environment, to nature and to the viewer. All these relationships change the work creating a new structure.
