Local residents open up their gardens to create vibrant open-air festival exhibition

This August Portobello will play host to a unique exhibition. For one month only local and internationally recognised artists will be displaying work in the front gardens of Portobello residents.

The Garden Gallery will be a vibrant open-air exhibition in which the residents will be the Garden Gallery "hosts". Artwork will include painting, sculpture, installation work, sound and performance work with the exhibition featuring in the Edinburgh Art Festival 2008.

Artwork will also be appearing in a variety of other venues, with one-off events taking place in public and private spaces. Artists will be exploring the relationships in the environment on and around Edinburgh's wonderful city beach.
