The Power of Three, art work commissioned by the Public Art Commissioning Group of Big things on the Beach; 1 - Land Stream by Angela Beardsley
A temporary artwork encouraging momentary community interaction.
Location: On the cake stand, crossing over the promenade, over the sea wall and down almost to the waters edge.
This temporary site-specific public artwork encourages the audience to look at and interact with the promenade and beachfront in a new way. Interaction with the piece is a momentary event in the eternal flow of the land and the community. The work is a celebration of the gorse flower that once covered the land, which through lifetimes of change has created Portobello.

Big Things on the Beach is a public art trust in Portobello, a seaside suburb close to the city centre of Edinburgh, Scotland. It was formed by a group of residents in 2003 to explore the potential of the seafront as a site for engagement with public artworks by both emerging and established artists.
